There are numerous online resources to help protect you from being defrauded online and to assist you should you be defrauded while doing business online. In this section we want to outline some of the resources available to protect you from fraud online. This list is not comprehensive but it does provide some resources we have found to be very helpful in protecting us from being defrauded online. So please review our recommendations and hopefully they will help you along on your online journey.
Resource #1 9 PlanetReviews

If you were looking to find an honest internet based business to earn extra cash with where would you start? 9PlanetReview is a blog run by the well established internet program reviewer John Stankiewicz. The Better Business Bureau allows you to do a search on any business before you do business with them. The business may not be in there data base, but it’s worth a free look. The search feature will allow you to at least find out what kind of complaints the business has received and how they were resolved. It’s a great place to get started when you are uncertain about a business or opportunity. In addition, if you do run into a problem you can file a complaint with this company. They may or may not be able to help you but it’s worth a try. Your efforts may also help to warn others to stay clear from this company.





Resource #3 NCL Fraud Center

The NCL’s National Fraud Center focuses on instances of telemarketing and internet fraud. It also provides up to date information on how you can protect yourself from scams and online fraud. If you have been the victim of some sort of internet or telephone based fraud you can file an online complaint form or send a detailed complaint in by mail. The NCL will relay your report to the appropriate local, state or federal law enforcement agency. The report will also be sent to the National Fraud Database maintained by the FTC. The site has lots of helpful information so save it to your favorites and have a look around.





Resoruce #4 Attorney Generals Office

The State Attorney Generals office in most states will allow you to file complaints against businesses or individuals that perpetrate some sort of fraud against you as an individual or a group of individuals. Just be aware they may not follow up on your individual complaint, but they may pursue the fraudulent individual or company on criminal charges if appropriate. Most states have some sort of consumer affairs department that you can file your consumer complaint with. Go to your states Attorney General’s site and do some digging. Usually you can enter a complaint right there online.

Clark Howard is nationally known syndicated radio host that does a show that focuses on consumer protection. His website has numerous resources to help protect people from getting ripped off by unscrupulous people. The Clark Howard website has loads of information that you can use to protect yourself from computer and internet crimes. His section on work at home programs gives excellent advice for those just getting started in the work at home field. He also provides free information on how to protect yourself from identity theft and what to do if you become a victim of identity theft. If you need help with some sort of consumer problem you can submit a request online and the Clark Howard staff will do what they can to help you out.

Suppose you are in a situation and need an attorney. Where do you go? Well, if you have a friend or family member that can recommend a trust worthy attorney then by all means use them.
